Both word processing programs are running head to head with each other in the word processor program market. Open Office Writer is a freeware word processing program from Sun Microsystems. MS Word is proprietary word processing software from Microsoft Inc.

At one time, organizations had only one option – MS Word. But now things have changed. Open Office Writer is seen as an able replacement for MS Word. Becoming increasing popular, Open Office Writer, is seen as a no-expensive alternative for organizations with basic documentation needs.

Unlike MS Word, upgrades to Oo Writer are free. New versions are available free of cost. Even though MS Office – the office program from Microsoft is given free to certain groups of the society as part of its philanthropic initiatives, almost all licenses of MS Office are bought.

Another benefit of Oo Writer or any program under the Oo suite is the freely available code. While this can be an advantage for people who want to customize Oo applications, it could also prove to be a security threat. MS applications do not release their code to the public, hence their applications are safe to use.

MS has given the world an idea of how to develop office applications. The Oo Writer may be modeled to a large extent along MS Word. Now, Office 2007 has a new user interface for the Word application. The effort is to bring in more user-friendliness to the program, and set it apart from Oo Writer. The two programs are good for use. But still MS Word is still the safer option.

Open Source Software (OSS) is a licensing mechanism that saves businesses and consumers approximately $60 billion per year. The software is often used in collaboration with information distributed to the public. In most instances OSS is available in source code form. Individuals are allowed to established copyrights and distribute software when OSS is used in such form. Distributing terms and conditions must be understood and observed when administering licenses.

An administered license must be free from discrimination. A license that is biased towards a corporation or group of people is illegal. OSS technology was not created to encourage discrimination and does not condone in prejudice software licensing. In addition, individuals and corporations licensing software must refrain from preventing endeavors. A license may not restrict an individual from using a program for business or research purposes. While plagiarizing copyrighted material is illegal, users have the right to tailor programs to fit personal and corporate needs; a license disclosure should not restrict this right.

Once established, licenses must be capable of execution. License disclosures that require additional documents to be executable is a poor agreement that does not abide by OSS guidelines. An agreement should focus on one software program at a time. Generalized disclosures used for several programs do not cover all bases of software and may prove problematic when details concerning a license are sought. License disclosures should not promote OSS by insisting that other programs of the same caliber be licensed through the software. All agreements should allow for program modifications.

Your website needs to be user friendly to build traffic. You can have good information on your website, but if the site is not easy to use, then people will stay away. There are some basic tips you can keep in mind that will make your website user friendly and keep that traffic flowing.

1) Use basic colors.

One of the misconceptions about websites is that they are like neon signs; the brighter and flashier they are, the more people will want to look at them. That is not true. If your website contains bright colors, that can be difficult for people to look at. It can also distract from the important information on your website, which decreases your website’s effectiveness.

2) Make the graphics relative to the content.

Marketing experts will sometimes put colorful images in advertising that has nothing to do with the product in the ad, but is designed to grab your attention. That works in advertising, but it does not work in website development. Keep your website images simple and on target with the website content. Do not confuse readers by including colorful images that have nothing to do with your company.

3) Make it easy to find anything.

Your website visitors will click on up to three links before they decide to navigate away from your website. When you develop the structure of your website, make everything easy to find. You may not be able to keep it under three clicks for everything, but if the navigation makes sense, then people will stay.

Make your website user friendly to maintain repeat visitors, and entice new visitors to stay.

Companies and business people use websites to promote their products, network with other professionals and reach an international audience for a low cost. That cost can be even lower if people learn how to develop their own websites. Once the domain name has been purchased, all that is required is a hosting account and anyone can maintain the website. While it may seem intimidating, there are three good reasons why businesses and individuals should learn to develop a website.

1) It is done on your schedule.

Even the best website management companies take time to process requests and website changes. Getting information updated in a timely manner can be a challenge. When the company or the individual creates and maintains the website, those changes can be done instantly. That allows the company to stay up to date with pricing and other important updates.

2) You save money.

Website developers charge for creating your account, the creation of your website and monthly updating fees. When you maintain your own website, you save all of that money. There are plenty of Intenet host available with template and site creation tools that will help you to make your own professional looking website.

3) You learn about an important business tool.

The smart professional understands the power of the Internet and how important it is to stay up to date. When you maintain your own site, you force yourself to stay updated on the newest web technology. That can help you stay ahead of the competition.

A website is an important business tool for companies and business professionals. Save money and learn to create and maintain your own site.

Reputations are never easily earned. The world of consumer satisfaction is fickle — with praise rarely given and criticisms eagerly tossed out. Users are demanding in their need for perfection and unforgiving in their lack of patience.

Dell has somehow managed to bear all of that customer capriciousness, however. It’s defied the expectations, becoming one of the most popular brands across the globe (ranking as one of the United States’ most profitable companies and representing almost nine percent of the entire computer market as of 2011, which is far above its direct competitors). Reliability has become the standard it’s achieved; and individuals are forever discovering the value it offers.

They’re also discovering the importance of Dell deals. Though Dell has forever been devoted to user-friendly prices (reflecting their dedication to their clients), individuals may still want to save their dollars. Accomplishing this is easy, however. Purchasing online can offer deductions, with customers contacting the company directly and avoiding third-party stores. Utilizing coupons can spare sales taxes and shipping costs. Selecting package deals — such as software compilations and extended warranties — can grant reduced rates. And choosing to buy on major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas can reap instant rewards. This is often because a business is wishing to replace its current stock with new pieces. Total amounts will be cut.

Dell is understood to be a brand meant for the casual user: those seeking easy interfaces and support. Its abilities mark it worthy of all consumers. Its cost deductions, however, make it truly unique. Consider the incentive of saving. Dell deals succeed.
