Is Xbox or Playstation 3 the best and where does Nintendo compare? The debate rages among gamers over which system has the best graphics and provides the most realistic action. Each have their loyal followers but when you ask the experts you find that the answer will depend on the types of games that you play.
As a general rule, Playstation 3 has the best graphic display because it is newer and displays the latest BlueRay technology. Games for PS3 are capable of 1080P, which is far superior to Xbox, but the difference is only seen in games that are built solely for the PS platform. When it comes to games made for both Xbox and PS3, the difference in the graphics is not as noticeable.
The web site Gamespot, which keeps track of the latest technology in gaming, compared several games side by side that are made for both systems and concluded that Xbox looks better. They compared some of the most popular games to reach their conclusion including “Need for Speed,” “Call of Duty” and “Madden.” In “Need for Speed,” Gamespot liked the lighting better on Xbox than PS3. For the wildly popular “Call of Duty,” Gamespot noted almost no difference at all between the two systems except for an occasional blurring on the PS3.
When it comes to the “Madden” football game, the web site also gives a slight edge to Xbox even though it points out that the graphics are excellent on both. The only area where Gamespot noticed a slight difference came in being able to clearly read the names on the backs of the player jerseys. Xbox looked a little sharper. One sports game where they did give the edge to PS3 was in playing “Tiger Woods 11.” They liked the images of the golf courses better on the Sony system than on Xbox.
