I'm having a problem that if I leave the GUI running it will just crash... I'm running Win98SE and this is what is reported on crash... DCN_GUI caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0197:bff87ede. Ditto GF_WIN32_CMDLINE caused an invalid page fault in Running on an Athlon casuing it maybe? Anyway, doesn't seem to hurt any other program, and I can always relaunch it fine...but this means leaving it on all day won't give me boatloads of work units (~19000 rays second so I have to do RC5 instead, which is boring |

What is this celeron worshipper crap?! I happen to have a fucking Athlon 800..and it never ASKED me what cpu I had, adn last I checked theres no browser/java/cgi code out there thats is capable of testing cpu type across the internet! |

Zypher, you have to post several more replies/topics (I guess 10 or so) to be promoted to Follower of Athlon. |

The new unified GUI doesn't even start on my computers. It says "couldn't find procedure call Process32Next in DLL kernel32.dll" (I hope it's right in english). I use NT Server 4.0 SP5. The zip for localized versions of windows has the same problem... Any comments ? Ciao, Michael. |

I have both problems, too. On a Win98-Box (K6-2 400) the DCN_GUI crashes, with NT4 SP6a (K6-3 400) it wonīt start at all. Now I have installed the gf client with -i and donīt use DCN_GUI - thatīs less confortable, but it works |

Okay folks, First of all, re: Windows NT. Microsoft busted something. The code that is causing both of these problems is out of a Microsoft CERTIFIED example that ships with their dev products. Obviously it's horribly busted. It works fine on Windows NT SP 5 and lower AFAIK. Secondly: We will have a new qui betaing very soon (as per the new portion of www.dcypher.net ). This will fix all these issues and many more. Please try and hang in there as we are working on many cool things for you. Steve |

Ditto, though it does the same in Build 2195.3 of Win2K Pro. Aslo, I now get variable block speeds...most are ~19000-2000 but a few are 13000, even when I'm not doing *anything* I do have a celeron at least |

I think the variable block speeds are an old problem. Here's a graph of the speeds of a 14-hour overnight run of GF 1.02: The peaks are when I restarted the client and are not real; otherwise I didn't touch the computer. Does your logfile produce a similar graph? Ken |

I dont know how to graph it, but a quick scroll through it tells me it would look something like that...certain blocks seem 'harder' than others... The gui crashes a LOT less now, but still does...thankfully the core stopped crashing, and all I have to do is relaunch the gui to see what progress I've done. NOW I can't get my team (#509 Halflife Addicts) to show up in Gamma stats..shows up in CSC stats with 0 blocks (obviously, I just made the team 2 days ago) but Gamma has no clue...sad because with about 35 teams that have actually done blocks, mine would be up there already. Plus stats are just plain screwed up sometimes, but I like them about 10x more than dnets...both 'longterm' and instant stats! thats a great idea, and fun when it works. |

We have scheduled a stats page fix up for this evening. It will hopefully fix the problems you are seeing. Steve |
