Nice PC!! Now you gotta crank that 550mhz up to 749mhz+ with 1/2speed L2 cache like me . You may find yourself wanting 256mb ram tho.

If ABIT doesn't come out with a Socket A board by the time I build this (I think they will), what motherboard should I use for socket A. At http://www.lynncomp.com / they have 5 motherboards for socket A, they are:

Asus A7V VIA KT133
EPoX EP-8KZA VIA KT133
Gigabyte 7-ZX $159.00(est.)
Microstar MS6330 $159.00(est.)
Microstar K7Tpro

They also have the price listed for the durons, they are:

600MHz: $89.00
650MHz: $115.00
700MHz: $159.00

It's kinda hard to recommend a motherboard when it hasn't been released yet and no reviews of it is available...

Dan,

Make sure there is enough room to mount the KT7 in that case. I just built a new computer with the KT7-Raid and it's a big board. I had a Mid-Tower, but it only left about 1 inch of spare room, so I had to order a new case. I went with the InWin Q500N Full Tower. Super nice case with good 300W supply, a ton of bays and room for 4 case fans right off the bat. Only $77 too!

DanBall posted 09-18-2000 12:14 ET (US)
Well, don't worry, since I have both the board and case, I already have it in, it fits nicely because the case can fit ATX boards up to 12"x13" and the KT7/KT7-RAID is 12"x9.5". If you look a little more, under what I have, this means I already have it in the case.
The case is the SuperPower Zephyr KS-201XP.
Mid-Tower ATX 300 watt PS
4 5.25" bays
2 ext 3.5" bays
1 int 3.5" bay
