Do any of them say when we can actually expect to see the Athlon on sale in Europe? (specifically the UK!)

(Now this should actually be the third hi thread...)

I don't know about availability, but they are listed here in Finland. But the prices... Aaaargh...

I just checked on Insight (www.insight.com/uk), and they have them listed, but claim that they are "ordered on request"). Bloody expensive though - £209, £319 and £474 for the 500, 550 and 600 respectively. No word on an actual date of sale though.

As posted on news, there are 2 shops that have Athlons listed here in Finland. The prices are: £276, £399, £588 and £907 for 500, 550, 600 and 650 respectively. Wanted to have them here for comparison. Aaaargh, you thought your prices were high?

What? The third 'hi' thread?! Started without me! Aaaargh! Eww-wait! I get it.

Athlon prices are unrealistic for me, but better and more fair than P3 prices. AMD could charge double since they have the fastest chip around. Intel would. Intel has. Ah well.

Hmmm... this thread is 000011.html. Hmmm... Is 'hi' trying to tell us something?

Man, I wonder if prices will go down before October (that's when I'm ordering my Athlon system)? Money's tight, and I don't wanna be stuck with a measley(well, comparatively measley) 500MHz Athlon cuz I had to pop 240 or so bucks for the Motherboard. I've seen stuff here and there for the FIC SD-11, that it's gonna be under 200, but does anyone know for sure?

It seems this mysterious hi "thing" has a life of its own. My sincere apologies to the great moderator, I was not to provoke the birth of yet another hi thread, seriously. It just seems that wherever hi goes, people (all the nutties) will follow.

If I would get a 500MHz Athlon for $284 and an MS-6167 for $225 I'd be more than happy. Or even a K6-III 400 for $106. The beast costs $165 here. All the prices here are at least 40% higher than on Pricewatch. We can't AMD be an European firm?

Well, it seems Europe has no luck. All the best processors come from here in the US and all the best Mobo's come from The Asian area. Fear not, however--I'm sure when AMD's superfab in Dredsen goes online you'll no longer have such pricing troubles.

Let's hope so. It's just unfair that you Americans who claim to be the richest nation in the world get the stuff at lowest (well that's what it looks from this place) prices. After all, you should have the money to pay more.

And from where have you gathered your riches? Well, your national debt grows $167 million per day. Where else would that money be from but from the old world?
