Its time for ...

THE FAMOUS SYSTEM SPECS COMPARISON.

I'll start:
K6-2 400 Voodoo 2
96Mb RAM
5.5Gb HDD space
48X cdrom drive (Soon to be CDW hopefully)
Diamond MX300 soundcard.

OK then, not the best specs in the world, but never mind.

Ive also got a MI200 running Linux too.

OK, I think I can top that...

K6-2 450
128Mb RAM
Guillemot TNT2 16Mb
Canopus Voodoo2 12Mb
Pace NICAM TV / Radio card
8.4 & 4.3Gb HDD's (with very little space!)
32x CDROM
6x2x2 CDRW (Hewlett Packard)
Soundblaster Live! Value
PCI Network Card
Diamond PCI Modem
Iiyama S702GT 17" Monitor
MSFF Wheel
Mustek Scanner
Extreme lack of room in case!

***UPDATED***
Scratch the TNT - giving me too many lockups - exchanged for a V3 3000 (so the Canopus has had to come out too - shame really, it was a cool card)

Also I've currently got an old Acer P200MMX (minus HDD and monitor) sitting on the floor behind me looking lonely...

Well, this was a bad time for a sys comparison post for me, since I'm switching soon. Right now my system is as follows:

K6-2 400
Asus P5A
128MB RAM
13.6 Maxtor 5400RPM
32x CDROM
Voodoo3 3000
Sound Blaster Live! Value

CASC,
How well does that Quantum Fireball KA perform?
I'm considering buying the 18,2GB version of it so it could be nice to hear what people think of it.

The Quantum KA+ does perform great, Nuts & bolts benching is showing a access time of 6.5ms and transfers almost 8mb/s . Loading times are visibly faster, i used a big bmp load time was 2/3rds the time of either of my other 2 HD.
Some were saying that they run hot but i haven't noticed any temp increase in the case.
I am only on the UDMA 33 right now.
I have noticed that Ali has a beta driver that will support UDMA 66 on the P5A, this will probably give even more speed out of the HD.
It is quieter than my Seagate ( not hard to do ) but noisier than the Fuji but not by much.
I don't think you would be diappointed if you bought one, and you shouldn't get a recall on it like most of the WD drives...hehehe
It was close, i almost bought a WD but decicded that speed was a little more important than the extra gig i would get with the WD.

Hope this helps

CASC,
Sounds nice. It pretty much equals what I have read about the disk around the Net.
I guess I don't have other choices than to spend some money and buy that disk
