That other thread really is becoming a bit long to follow!

Let me get this straight. As I see it, stage one is to hunt down non "Get 3DNow!" supporting websites, and continue to mail them (gently and individually, NOT mailbombing!) until they either support us, or give a satisfactory reason why they can't support us.

This then increases our leverage to start on phase 2, which is to shove this support in the faces of software/hardware/game developers and ask them why they aren't supporting us yet?

Am I right here? (Just wanna get my facts straight)

If so, it occured to me, would it be worth www.3dnow.org doing an occasional award (monthly, quarterly etc.) for the best new implementation of 3DNow! ?
By award I don't mean financial rewards but something like PC magazines give in reviews, so the company could then put:
"www.3DNow.org gold award for 3DNow! implementation August 1999" etc. on their product packaging and literature. Kudos for them and us.

It's just an idea mind, but it may generate some more interest, and may enable us to do some beta testing or early previews of 3DNow! enhanced products if they want us to see them before they are launched. If so, I'm quite willing to join the "Get 3DNow!" beta testing program!

If you think this idea stinks, or won't stand a chance, say so. I can take constructive criticism (so long as it's not too harsh
But I think we need to start being more PROactive than REactive with this thing.

Your views please?

That's a good idea (and the plan is correct, yes).

To encourage to consider supporting sites for such evaluation units I'd say we pick the award winning product from reviews done by supporting sites only, too.

Fantastic ... thats EXACTLY what we are about. Its a good way to get companies to support 3dnow! and getting the best use out of it.

Sorry, I've been out-of-touch for a few days. Me like this idea!! We already have 37 supporting web sites, but that is not enough.

The key points in convincing companies that they must have 3dnow support is the number of supporting web sites, but even more importantly the number of "signatures" on the petition-thang.

So through increasing the no. of supporting web sites, we need to increase the no. of people on the petiton list. Should we start emailing the small list of sites I compiled in the other thread?

I'll send my letter to these places. Individuals can either send this letter, a modified version of it, or their own, unique letter. ARMIN> You could post something about this on the main news page? The more people who send the letter, the more likely the site is to support www.3DNow.org

Thanks

Did you sign with "the hardware army of salvation" or why does he think you're the right person to ask for that stuff?

Guys, I need to ask of you to post the actual contact EMAIL ADDRESSES here so people can quickly mail them, the URLs are of little use unless you want everyone to waste time to do the research all over again.

I hope that helps. Everyone, email them and advance 3dnow! Or something like that... Change has to start somewhere, eh?
