Hi,

Anyone got this before. When it hit 100%, it didn't update the block finished count.

No, but some weird stuff happened to me today. On the 1.05 CLI it was screwing me around. It went to 100% and then jumped back to 80%. And then... it did it again. Made it back to 100% and dropped back to 72%. I was like freaking out. heh. But it seems okay now. Just weird.

I had the same problem: I checked my client yesterday and it said 54,1% done (buffer in 35, buffer out 0). When I checked again one hour later it said 9,01% done (buffer in 35, buffer out 0).
I´m using 1.05 cli K6-2 350 on FIC-VA503+...
Oh, I think bolt-on gui was running minimized while this happened. Could this be the reason?

I'll have a look at the inner loop control tomorrow. It's probably just something daft I did. I would recommend going to back 1.04 if you are having problems.

I´m not 100% sure, but this problem seems to appear only when the output-buffer is empty.

lol. Set it back to seti@home where you prosess data prosessed by several other ppl with a program that runs much slower than it could by ppl who don't want your help anyways as they have too much already. ROFL

Steve,

This is a problem with V1.01, so you might not want to deal with it, but it might be the same as this problem.

Or it could be, of course, my ramdisk was too small! Fixed.

Thanks!

Ken

It is definately not recommended to use older client versions on data processed by newer client versions. If it destroys your blocks you have only yourself to blame.

We strongly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest versions to minimize support problems that arise from such - pardon my french - improper tinkering.

It seems that people are always expecting a newer client version be faster than the previous one, so next time please don't show them the maximum speed the client can reach straight away, but instead make the first client dead slow and then start dropping those NOPs out of the code as the version number increases...

i've noticed this happen too. but only with 1.05.

in the log most of the time it says
[8-12-99 10:33:13] Block 1 completed

but sometimes it doesn't and then it doesn't count that block and starts the next (same) one in the middle.

hope that helps.

Hey, this bug still exists in the unified distribution file. My client jumped from 100% back to ~50%.
Steve, you should note that somewhere (or remove the "the distributed computing effort that won't waste your time!" from the Frontpage ) until it is fixed. Csc-client 1.04 still runs fine....

Joined yesterday and installed the CSC Clent 1.05. Flushed one block. Saw later that the second block was completed to more than 90%. Later it was down at 50% and no changes in todo nor in completed. I have it logged.
Have had a few fatal errors in the Dcn_gui as well.
What to do?

I downloaded the unified 1.05 and whenever I run the CSC core the block will hit 100.0008% and sit there until I stop the core (usually requiring a trip to the task manager) and then restart it. For now I'll just run Gamma Flux which seems to work correctly, but any help would be appreciated...

Of course, we've only got about another week until distributed.net finds the key unless they made some more "code changes without knowing what they would do" :P
