We can record information associated with a user handle (i.e. block count) or "general" stuff pertaining to the population that is anonymized, i.e. to calculate an average age or output by age classes etc.

Speak up

I'd like an accurate breakdown by CPU/MHZ. This would require the client to interrogate the CPU and speed and record it in the output blocks.
It would also be nice to record the OS if at all possible.
The time (either CPU or elapsed) used to perform the calculations.

Daily stats are interresting in that they allow to check if your blocks sent are credited ok. however they are very inaccurate in terms of rays/s and ranks, because some ppl flush in the morning, others in the eveening, others continually. it would be fine to have "daily stats for yesterday"
If we push the concept further, a script could show the stats for date X through date Y, but I'm not asking this

A block-history-function would also be nice. Like the one there is with RC5.

The most fun I ever had with stats was when I was doing the original Gamma Flux project. Its graphs were neat, but the best thing I got out of them was the maximum and/or average speed of each participant over a given time period, so I could determine who I could pass and who could pass me. If I could have modified those graphs I would have added a trace function and a point-to-point speed function. But of course those graphs took up a lot of server space.

The problem with the current stats is that they show anomalies like big dumps, or don't show anomalies like late assimilations. Timing the blocks could eliminate the former; while having ID codes for machines could alleviate the latter. So my big question is, I guess, how well can you predict a participant's future?

Ken

Chris can manually retire an account if you send him mail to do so. Don't stress him out too much on it, though

I would like to see the percentage of the project completed (maybe overall percentage and percentage completed today). We can already see how many blocks have been completed today and overall, but I would like to know how many there are left to go.

Kpearson,
All stats are here:
http://www.3dnow.org/forums/Forum20/HTML/000049.html

BTW: for "some reasons" percent completed is a bit too high... but of course this percent completed exactly defines when project will be anounced as completed? (am I right?)

I'd like stats to show nicks instead of addresses

As it is now you can instead of email use nick, but one thing is missing - configurable user accounts where one could change personal info (nick or email etc.). It would be useful when giving out prizes (additional user info is strongly needed )

What about showing how many percent each team has completed of the project and for each team how many percent each member has completed of the teams total.

One more thing

A function there show the daily output for a team and not just the overall output.

Daily team output can be seen in daily stats, teams (for the top 100 at least)

Armin,

I ment that it should be possible to see how many blocks each team-member has submitted each day and not just the teams total blocks. When you click the Team Membership link it should go to a page with todays active members and not just overall.

Yes that would make sense. I already asked Chris to implement it.

What about #2 and #3 on the stats-todo-list?
How long will it take to finish them?
