good, but if you upgrade from a K6-2 400 to a K6-III 400 i dont think youll see some great improvement.. on the other hand, I have a 333@350 and plan to get a 550 (the highest my clock multipliers support) K6-III when it comes(or maybe overdrive at 800 if it is reasonable)

Hiya

I did the 266@300 thing with my K6-2, now i have a K6-III@400 and the 100 mhz jump is not just 100 mhz.

I am sorry to say but 300 should have been enough i think that windows sluggishness is no more with my K6-III@400.

I am happy i think this will carry me over to the K7 when it will be cheaper, around early next year. I'll miss all those mainboard infancy problems etc. :-)

I'm skipping the K6-2 and going straight from a K6/166 to a K6-III/400, so I guess I may see some improvement

Probably not worth upgrading from anything above a K6-2 400 however; unless you absolutely must have the TriLevel Cache design!

I have a K6-2 450 right now on an Asus P5A w/CLTNT AGP...I'm gonna wait until the speeds go up on the K6-3's before I think of upgrading. Luv AMD, though...have 2 other boxes for 2 of my 3 kids (K6-2 300 and K6 233). The youngest will probably get one by the end of the year. By-the-by, the 2.08 drivers solved any and all OGL probs with the ALI chipset (using the 1.60 AGP).

I too have a success story to tell. I've heard of people complaining about the Aladdin V/TNT combo, but my mine is working just fine (as fine as you could expect from a PC). I've got a K6-2 266@350 (CXT) on an Asus P5A-B and Powercolor Sniper (Riva TNT).

The K6-2 is acquired in February, Asus in December and Sniper this month. I have the latest drivers for everything (AGP 1.60, Detonator 2.08).
