I'm having a big problem with the new client. I deleted all the files in my old directory (just in case there would be conflicts) and installed the new client. The GUI starts up but when I choose the Gamma Flux core and try to run it it freezes up and I have to go to the task manager and shut it down. I'm running Windows 2000. IP: Logged |

The same with my client!!!! Steve help! The only way to do it is to remove all and install it from command-line Im running W98 system, so it does not depend on system. [This message has been edited by Maciek (edited January 23, 2000).] IP: Logged |

First of all: Which bundle did you use.. the .zip or the installer? Steve IP: Logged |

Edit your cores. file to look like this: DCypher.Net CSC Client, 1, csc_win32_cmdline.exe My bad. It's fixed in the zip file and as soon as I can I'll get a new self-installer built. Sorry. Steve IP: Logged |

Whatever happened to that shadow update program to let you upgrade all your clients? =) IP: Logged |

Hmm... Steve mentioned a 10% speed increase with the new client. With the old client, my K6-2 350 [Win98] did max. ~6700 rays/s. With the new client it does max ~6800, but most of the time itīs at ~6400. The K6-2 400 [win98] of my girlfriend did ~7200 with the old client - with the new one it doesnīt get over 7000. Does anyone with a K6 has similar "problems"? IP: Logged |

I got around 8300-8500 rays/s most of the time on my K6-III 450MHz with the old client and now I get around 9500-9700 rays/s with the new one ------------------ IP: Logged |

My friend with K6-II 300 also does not see much speed increase - about 3% only... IP: Logged |

Not sure whats wrong with your guys systems, but my k6-2 333 shows about 10.3% no matter what I set the FSB for (95, 83, 66). Steve IP: Logged |

On a similar configured K6-III 400 with NT4 / SP6a, the new client is faster. Btw, when I start dcn_gui on that NT-Box while the gf_win32_cmdlin is running it starts a second gf_core. Any idea what I could have done wrong? IP: Logged |

Next time you bring up the GUI, go to the configuration options and uncheck those boxes at the bottom that say "run in background" and "run hidden". You don't need those since you have it running as a service. IP: Logged |

It shouldn't be doing that.. I don't have an issue with it here.. however I will look into. It is *supposed* to check to see if there is an instance running already.. <grumble> Steve IP: Logged |

Matze, Are you running a nationalized version of NT? Steve IP: Logged |

Matze, had the same problem and we solved it. The german (and possibly other nationalized versions) are missing a file called psapi.dll which is needed to control the process management. Steve is making it available for download now, so check the DCypher news page. IP: Logged |

Steve & Armin, yes, it is the german version. I will try that .dll-file later. Thanks [This message has been edited by Matze (edited January 30, 2000).] IP: Logged |
