We passed the 800 unit mark tonight and should be reaching the Top 100 by Wednesday at the current rate. Of course I hope we can get more members, especially AMD, Cyrix and IDT employees.

Did you post about Team 3DNow! SETI on your favourite message boards?

I looked at the SETI site today. We are at #70 in the clubs group. Do I hear 50? 40? 2? 1? I will set up my second computer as secondary for SETI. My older K6 is primary running straight thru each piece. THanks for tips to close other apps. It helped. Also found out i need to set it to run constint when minimized. It was really slow at first. But now I am at about 42% at 12 hours It speeded up after shutting down apps and thigns runnign behind it. I jsut set res down to minimal at 256 colors insted of 32bit. Hope it helps. I will be setting up the k6-II 350 as secondary, adding 128MB ram to the exsisting 64mb(addign today) I will run this computer non stop at night. But during day only as screen saver. We will see how much I can add to the group.

We're number 59 now. Some time ago there was this guy from 'Team AnandTech' writing and trying to tempt us jump the ship. Well, it still is one step above us, but next time the stats are updated 'Team AnandTech' bites dust! So stick with us and rule or switch and perish!

Also 'The Knights Who Say Ni!' are soon to be something else than 'The Knights Who Say Ni!'

If I remember correctly, the "Knights who say Ni!" should become the "Knights who say ecke, ecke, ecke, ptang, zoooooooo-boing!"

Haven't seen it for a while though, so that could be slightly wrong

I just remembered that I found the script almost two years ago in the Net. I checked it out and it says:

HEAD KNIGHT: We are now... no longer the Knights Who Say Nee.

RANDOM: Nee!

HEAD KNIGHT: Shh shh. We are now the Knights Who Say Ecky-ecky-ecky-ecky-pikang-zoom-boing-mumble-mumble.

Maybe we should discuss about the team status a bit too.

We're number 58 now. The knights have fallen to position 61.

Team AnandTech on the other hand is at 47. That raises a question whether they have a secret weapon...

They do, they have a well frequent BBS where they advertised for the team and signed up several big hitters the last three days.

I posted one message about Team 3DNow! (and promptly got flamed), so I'd appreciate if more of you guys sign up over there and beat the drum along the lines of "we're the only honorable option for AMD owners" and "Don't serve the minions of Intel by giving your units to non-3DNow! teams".

Do it now.

Voila! I just noticed a team that performs pretty well, they are at 22. Team Amiga that is, they promise me everything I've ever dreamed of if I join. Just look at this:

"If so, join the team that will get to the top of the SETI team rankings! **

**Warning: This statement may be a complete lie"

Though my trusty A500 might be a bit too slow for the project, but that's just what the seti guys want, isn't it? Wuold it hurt the credibility of this team to use my A1200 to crunch a unit or two?

Currently I have no intention to jump the ship, provided that I'll stay on Top 100, 'cause you see, I'm a very loyal person, unless of course Intel makes me a tempting offer

Seriously, how on earth could I leave the greatest team ever?

PS. Armin, you didn't provide the URL of Team Anandtech, so I had to beat the drum here. Hope it helps...

Besides, Team Anandtech's web site doesn't work, at least from this end of the Net. Have they taken counter-measures against us?

Position 46 is nice, but surely we can beat Team Anandtech who are at 41 with a mere amount of members. Keep those machines crunching!

We are still at 46. Team Anandtech on the other hand, has climbed to 37. They now have over 100 members! Maybe I shouldn't had post that bit about Team Amiga.

We definitely need the 3DNow! enabled version, otherwise Anandtech is hard to reach. Their average per unit time is 75% of ours.

The knights have gone above us... Maybe we should let them have _it_ and say the word.

Well, I started a post at AnandTech, and we'll watch me get flamed...

Here's the url : http://www.anandtech.net/bbs/Forum13/HTML/001687.html

Post there and show your support, and maybe other people from AnandTech will join us and our fight?

It seems those guys can't understand what's best for them. I suggest we make a sneak attack to overtake them. That should make them reconsider!

Wow! We're now at 42 (does anybody know the question yet). Team Anandtech has stuck at position 37.

By the way, there's one thing in which we're above Team Anandtech, total CPU time. Well, maybe it's nothing to be proud of, but still...

Hi teammates!

Doesn't anyone want to challenge my work unit output? It's some kind of boring here on the top...

It looks like that even the www.3dnow.org staff has given it up...

C'mon. Let's show the world the power of the "united 3d-now! users of planet earth"! :-)

I'd love to challenge you - now maybe if someone would email me that optimised bit of code I could.... Only joking.

I'm slowly climbing, but it's a slow process with only one machine, and 121 WU's completed.

I'm currently doing "benchmarks" on several machines to get some average unit data for things, I'm transferring those units over to the team account once I have reliable average data.

Actually, I've all but given up on SETI blocks at the moment. I'm running RC5. I am sick and tired of fighting with SETI and can't stand to waste my machine time running a client that is always wating cycles for their servers to come back online, etc.

For example, I went in to the office to find that 4 machines had been unable to connect to the server and as a result had crashed the seti program. I lost 4 work units, and 2 days x 4 machines. Needless to say I have better things to run than that crap.

When Seti wants to talk to the right people about fixing their problems THEN I will start running it again.

As for the workshop and the 3DNow! optimized client, I have just about given up hope of having a SETI 'authorized' one. Read into that what you will.

It seems there is less intrest in the Seti project at the moment since our team has fallen to position 43. Anandtech still continues to rocket upwards, they're at 34 now.

One of my pals said two weeks ago that he had lost a unit twice (the client started all over again from zero). I said to him that I hadn't experienced such a behaviour.

Today it happened, 33% of the calculation was lost because the client decided to start crunching from zero. Currently I'm at 0.555% and I'm gonna stay there indefinitely...

I also ordered a K6-3 400 today and received a K6-2 400. Obviously there are illiterate people working for that company. The new chip was supposed to be used to boost my Seti and RC-5 performance, but obviously there's not much help from it, because I already had a K6-2 350

I'm beginning to realize why Friday 13th was such a perfect and normal Friday... I feel a bit blue, let's hope writing a couple of 's will help...

Actually we were staying where we were while the Viper 3D team passed us, adding more than 2000 units in one day (wonder if those are real).

We just didn't pass anyone in front of us but added a nice number of units again. Keep on trucking!

Just joined the team. Think its great what you all are doing and wanted to join the fun. Of course being last will make the guy that is last now feel a tad better. Just wanted to say hi, and can't wait to see how much faster the new seti client you all are working on turns out to be.

Hi!
To have entered the team with 5 work units and climbed to the top has been very enjoying but now I have to reduce my output significantly. :-(

PThor for President! ;-)
