I guess now that we established ourselves in the Top 100 it must be our goal to break into the Top 10, which is another class alltogether.

Since we cannot count on the quick availability of SETI/3DNow! because of SETI's reluctance to have a faster client (their server shit is poorly set up and threatens to crumple when faced with a much faster unit turnaround so they think that they can waste the contributors computing time to dodge the issue), we have to increase unit turnout the old fashioned way: more members.

If you have friends that are not part of the team yet or machines at work that run all day and night and do nothing when nobody is in the office, sign them up!

I couldn't agree more.

I have no qualms about using a hacked NT version. It would be rather simple do do also. It is possible to download a WU with 1.2, and finish it with 1.3. So i don't see why you couldn't use 1.x to download the WU, in case it HAS to be their software that authenticates to the server, and used a 3dnow enhanced version to do the grunt work.
If they can handle the guys at PIXAR doing 4 hour turnarounds, I don't see the problem with us doing 10 hour WU.

But the hacked client should only be made available to the people in our team .........

Hmm, obviously we are not persons who would use dirty tactics, are we... We should do it by the book, or not at all... I hope this raises the team morale, if it doesn't, give me the hack!

And what comes to using our work machines, I once tried, just once, and I wont do it again for a _long_ time. My work machine is an iNTEL Pentium 133, I left seti running for a weekend and on Monday it had gotten to 75%! It would have taken 100 hours to work the unit (though it was windows client 1.00), so I took the unit home and finished it that night on my K6-2.

Add 3DNOW to Seti and then Release an Underground version of it.

OK, now does anyone know how do to do it?
I'm not a programmer, so i have no idea how to mkae the optimizations. If one were to be written, I don't think it should be available ON this site. I think that it should be emailed to the Team www.3dnow.org registered members. Posting it on the site is far to risky.

Wasn't their going to be a workshop on how to do exactly what we're talking about?

Well I just joined up. I have the medley of computers, k6-200(NT), K62-300(LINUX),K62-350(98),K62-400(98). I already had 110 WU's, so that should boost us a bit. Hopefully they will get the 3dnow stuff going so we can spit out some serious WU's.
