SETI Spy Version 1.1 is now available at http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy /. Some highlights:

* Fixed AMD K6-III L2 cache size bug.
* Fixed the "Runtime error 216" bug on Cyrix 6x86 and other older
processors.
* Added an Environment page that displays the SETI@home client version,
current user, operating system, and amount of memory.
* Improved the Processor page to display the L1 cache size of more
processors, and only display L2 cache size if known.
* Provide window position persistence.

Enjoy!

Is it possible to run it through my windows onto a linux box, meaning will it analyze the current computer or the current directory.

I have a unix client running but dont run anything besides seti on it, could i junk the windows.exe there and just running it from my windows machine (through samba to my linux box). ?

Yes, someone has already done something like that. I don't know Unix or Samba, but what you must do is set it up as if the Seti@home folder on the Unix box is actually on the Windows machine. You then run the SETI@home client from the Unix side and SETI Spy from the Windows side. To make sure that the Unix box speed, processor, OS, and memory is reported (and not the PC's) you need to manually edit the setispy.ini file and run SETI Spy with a -remote parameter. Please let me know if this works.

Another new version of SETI Spy is now available: Version 1.1 (Build 3). This is a good one, though. The biggest new feature is the ability to keep the local SETI@home client alive. SETI Spy periodically check to see if the local SETI@home client is running, and if not, restarts it. Great if you are running the text client and have problems with it terminating unexpectedly due to network problems.

As always, you can get SETI Spy at http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy .

Enjoy!
