Hello all Have you been able to send in your results lately? I noticed that today SETI's user info has increased my score for 5 units and the setiqueue program I'm currently using keeps reporting some kind of stackdump and is trying to form a connection..unable to get any new workunits. And I'm definitely certain that my computer didn't finish 5 units today..only one and the correct count should be 61. Oh well, probably just another server problem..and if that wrong score stays there at least it it for the benefit of the team Voriax IP: Logged |

Those extra credits don't worry me a bit but what is irritating is that I can't get new workunits and there is about 3 hours left in the last one i have...

Thanks Frank but I reinstalled seti@home and it gets workunits okay. For some reason the queue program didn't work anymore, even reinstalling it didn't work. Maybe they've changed something in the server end and the queue wasn't able to cope with it..or whatever. Too bad though it was nice to have couple extra units waiting...earlier it was bit irritating to come back after and weekend and seen that the client has been happily blinking 'trouble' for whole weekend. btw, how can you download workunits in storage? And make the windows client to understand that it has them? Voriax IP: Logged |

I dont think you can get the win client to recognise the existance of more than one WU. That does not stop you doing in manually though - I used to manually swap between 2 WU's, but now just have 9 between the 2 PC's and using the CLi version of the program - it is just a LOT easier :-) David IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info David. Btw, I tried installing the text-only client, but it didn't work with my version of WIN95(B) even though I did install the winsock2 update as someone instructed earlier. I did install the SetiSpy but I think it restarts only the text client but not the graphic client if it gets connect trouble and goes idle. Or at least that how I understood it? There is nothing much that I can add to the answers that you have. I run the command line client not the windows client and use a batch file. The only other thing you could do is run RC5 in conjunction with Seti. If Seti hangs up you will gain the full benifit for RC5. It's not much but it does help both teams. -Frank IP: Logged |
