Over chrismas I've the chance to install
Seti@home at some SGI machines.
One of it is a Octane. But the last time when
I tried to install the client it fails.
From setihome page i could download the
client for irix6.2 operating system, but
on this machine is the version 6.5 installed.
And how does i unzip these files on such
a computer. I'haven't any experiences with
SGI until now. Who could help ??
If someone help we get some
nice units - maybe our seti chrismas present )

I just downloaded the IRIX 6.2 version of setiathome 1.3 to my IRIX 6.5 machine and it works fine. Also, it wasn't zipped. The one catch is that for some reason, the execute bits weren't set on the binary after I untarred it. The way I fixed that was "chmod +x setiathome".
