12 machine for me and need to add some more.

Our OS at work does not allow for installing programs either so I just copied the seti execuatable program to a dir of it's own and run it, no problem and no screen saver installed to deal with. - Frank

An AMD K6-2-400 (At 450), P200, both running 24/7.

I also get access to some P2 350's at work - depending on when , I can often get access to up to almost 80 PC's on the network and run S@h as a service

Alas my access is only sporadic (Weekends etc), and has to be done from home - the firewall at work will not allow automatic WU downloading. Have you ever tried sending 75+ WU's via 56K modem? ZZZzzz.... But it's for the team (And S@h of course)

My hat is off to you daviddth.
I have 4 machines in the back room at work 1 is connected to the net, t1 hook and the other 3 are not, they each do a unit in about 30 hours. Today I uploaded 11 units from the 3. Move them to floppy then run the floppy on the computer that is hooked to the net then transfer the results back to original computer and that is rough enough. I shutter to think of what it takes to do 75 units on a 56k modem. Thanks for your extra effort. It really helps. - Frank

1 k6-2 450mhz
1 k6-2 300mhz
both run overnight, 300 averages about 1 hour less per unit than 450.

1 k6 233mhz, when I can get to it.

Athlon soon (waiting on motherboard)

no celeron!

franklin....

the problem is getting 2 network cards to work in the same system so we can share my dsl connection... tried 2 plug and play... yeah right win98se set them up with the exact same settings and the MB in this kryotech sys wont let me manually change any of the settings through windows or bios.... ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
to solve problem i had to look high and low for one of those old dinosaur ISA jumpered 10 ethernet network cards... found one after 3 months of searching for 30 bucks...looks kinda funny though, didnt have a twisted pair connection on it... had an old what looks like a joystick port on it, lucky me the last person that owned it had got an adapter for it to make it twisted pair...
lol that pushed the cost of my kryotech system over the 4,000.00 mark...lol
oh well.....

Wow, all that work for a network?

I just run a simple coax connection between my 2 at home. I tried the twisted pair, and although it was faster, it was prone to errors here, as one card is a really new ISA, and the other is something that came across on the Ark!

I was thinking of a 4 port hub, and a new card in my wife's PC, but I spent my $ yesterday on a Soundblaster Live for my PC instead

my network works fine... but when i try to log on with one of the other systems at the same time it kicks this computer off.... had to get second network card for this computer to share the dsl connection... the only way to share a dsl is to have 2 cards in the system that is gonna handle the connection....

Umm.. I Have three machines, which sometimes also run overnight.

nerdfarm.org virtual domain

Ariel:K6-2@420(4x105),Asus P5A-B,64MB,20G
Miranda:K6-2@333(4x83),Asus T2P4,64MB,6G
Oberon:K6-2@300(4x75),Msi 5170,32MB,3G

I am going to try the Linux V2.0 client soon, two of the machines already have Mandrake Linux 7.0 on them. Oberon will do dial-up, firewall, www proxy and e-mail server and routing for the rest of the machines. Still have some configuring to do to achieve that.

franklin....

dsl is different... requires one system to hanlde the requests... which means you need one card for the network and one for the dsl.. i know i have tried over and over to try and get it to work... even microsoft says you need to net cards to do this...
