I want to be able to run the commandline, the whole of the time that the machine is idle, it currently runs the screenserver, but that is a very slow way of processing the blocks, even a blank screen, with the commandline hidden would be better. Leaving the client running constantis a no no, as it is used as a gaming machine, and I can't spare the proc power when its in use. Can anyone help??

I not on purpose played a car racing game once when the cmdline version was running and it didn't seem to affect the game speed. I usually never do that, and right now i'm in the middle of a championship and am having a hard enough time trying to keep the car on the track, i certainly don't need something to screw up when i'm doing a race. I'm gonna see if task scheduler will start it up, i'll let ya know, other than that i don't know of any way to start it as a screen saver. Maybe one of smart programmer types on the team could write a little prog we can use to trick windows into thinking it is a screensaver . John IP: Logged |

_Running_ it as a screensaver is no prob... Move it into Windows-Dir and rename from .exe to .scr . Then just choose it as screensaver (yes, sometimes it's sick how stupid Win is! ). BUT: I don't think it would end when a screensaver should end cause that's not implemented in Seti... IP: Logged |

Well, I tried to run it by copy and rename, but it keeps trying to pass command switches, does anyone know of any other way to get it to work? Colin IP: Logged |

On the Amiga i had a utility that would allow to set the priority of the task involved. normal tasks would allways have a priority of 0, system related function 20 orso. When u have a task that u only want to run but not take up time when ure doing different things (like using it to play games) u could set it to -1. It would allways run until something more pressing is done with the machine. (allowed me to use my computer while rendering Imagine scene's). ------------------ Pieter :*) IP: Logged |
