I just built an Anthlon 600 last weekend on a K7M, on board sound, 64 megs of ram running at 100mhz, Win 98se. I run Seti version 2.03 minimized in the system tray, always on. My work unit average on this box is 17 hours. It is a far cry from the 35 hours I had on my P5 133, but shouldn't it be around 8-10 hours? Seti spy says Im doing about 16 cycles per flop. My P5 was about 9 Cp/F. What do I do? IP: Logged |

savine, in order to get my athlon on k7m to work right, i went to the bios and went to exit setting and chose "use optimal settings". if i didnt do this, mine also took about 15 to 16 hrs. i dont know why its this way, but everytime i go to bios i have to do this. now my 650@703 runs a unit in 6hrs 3min to 6hrs 30min. Thanks Fredo, you rock. After Bois change CpF droppped to 7.5 I am now getting about 10 Cyles per flop and expect it to drop after I finish working online. This puts me in the 8-9 hour range. Now does anyone want to explain the Super bypass to me? IP: Logged |

this was posted in another thread by mort. posted February 16, 2000 20:18 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fredro, I am running win98 and ver 2 Cli. Have you checked if your board has super bypass enabled? Remember you need revision C stepping 5 or later of the 750 northbridge for it to work. My k7m is revision C stepping 6, so I assume that yours will also be able to use the feature. If you want to check what revision you have try this utility: http://www.slota.com/files/chipid.zip The lastest BIOS also enables super bypass. Also in the bios did you load the optimal settings? I lost a few units when the servers were down , as I was away (I pick my times), thankfully the k6-2 had some buffered units to help the stats. p.s. has anyone else noticed higher scores in recent work units?
