On my Athlon 600 Asus K7M MB Ive been slowly upping my bus speed. I raise it 1 mhz let it run a few days and up it again. 606, 612, 618... it increased by multiples of six up until I set the bus speed to 106. At 105 processor ran at 630. Makes sense, multiplier of six. At 106 processor speed is 650. 6*106=650? Is the multiplier not locked but self adjusting? What gives? Prayers to the Childers Family IP: Logged |

6 x 106 =636 as you know. but the bios doesnt recognize this, it only knows the k7 as 500, 550, 600, 650........ you get the picture. hehe mine is 6.5 x 108, the bios says its 700mhz. IP: Logged |

That's right, a 550 at 103*5.5 = 566Mhz, but BIOS report as 600Mhz. IP: Logged |

Do you suppose that when AMD comes out with the Duron or Spitfire they will allow companies to produce a Socket A to Slot A converter like what they have for the Socket 370 to Slot 1 converter? Maybe the Duron/Spitfire be easier to overclock than the Athlons? IP: Logged |

i think they will, because where there is a market, there are investors. IP: Logged |
