The SETI scientists at UC Berkeley have reprogrammed SETI@home to do more thourough searching to 20Hz/s instead of 10Hz/s. As a result, SETI really does seem to take twice as long. BTW, SETI is now 188KB instead of 196KB for the command line client.

Just update to new seti version (3_03 TXT), & 35% slower than ver 3_00, my Athlon 650 now takes, 8hr+10hr per work unit, using seti driver to cache work units.

I have also lost 6 work units, because berkeley refused to accept units complete on ver 3_00, Transmission error when i updated to ver 3_03 and the only way i could get seti driver working again was to delete all my current cache.

I fully suport Seti@home's descision to add more computations to do a more through search with ver 3.03. Yes it will take longer for each WU, but then they already are processing each WU 4x+. From Berkley's point of view they are doing more science with less resources. The whole point of distributed computing is to maximize resources. My problem is this, as of yet I have not seen a Comandline version of 3.03 and I have never gotten the graphical client to work well with cacheing (SetiDriver). Is their a text only version of i386wint 3.03, or how do I make the graphic client work with Setidriver?

Here's your link: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/setiathome/setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe

I'm running it on one of my computers, the Soyo 5ema+ and K6-2 500 with 196MB Ram. At 15.33% it estimates 26h, 41m, and 12s. Ordinarily this would be approx 16-18hr at 15.33%

It says on the SETI Drivers site that it doesn't work with the GUI. You would need to use SETIWatch for that.

You have to go to the Download link, then to the text only link, which is this: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/unix.html and you'll find a link for the setiathome-303i386-winnt-cmdline.exe from all ftp servers.
