I'm running the command line client ver 3.03, and my times range from 6 hours to 9 hours, 30 minutes. They aren't all that bad. I had the idea they would be in the range of 10-15 hours.

I've been running v3.03 since it came out. I have some times over 14 hrs and some under 8, but mostly they float in the 9.2-9.5 hour range. I am running an original Athlon 600 @ (oddly enough)600mhz and 196 megs of 133 Ram.

Celeron 500@500, not overclocked at all,
96MB PC 100 ram (Alas @ 66 until I get a better heatsink for the Celeron)

I'm getting an average 13:10 to 15:30 average, with one 21:24 WU.

K6-2-400, with 64MB PC100 RAM, Gigabyte GA-4AA motherboard, is getting 23:50 to 26:10 averages, with one 37:20 WU. This PC used to get 18-24 hour WU's using S@H 2.x.

My best time on the 900MHz T-Bird core (Slot A processor) on AMD 750 using PC100 memory is 6.9 hours. Average time seems to be 7.5 hours. So far there have been three work units in the 11 hour range, and those were the longest times.

Looks like the new client is doing full Fourier transform analysis now instead of FFT. It takes care of two problems for Seti at Berkeley at the same time: slows everybody down from hitting and overloading their servers at U.C. Berkeley with work unit results, and they get more pulses and spikes and gaussians and better data overall.

You guys want a good laugh, go check out Ars Technica's Seti benchmark page about version 3.03 client: http://www.teamlambchop.com/bench/303results.htm

Gone are the dozens of PIII and Xeons with the 2.5-3.0 hour benchmark times. The top systems now are all overclocked Thunderbirds In fact of the top 10 times now 7 of them are Thunderbirds, 1 is an Alpha, and 2 are Intels (a PIII and P4). The first Xeon shows up now at 6:13 at number 19, but who's counting

FYI, the number one time on Ars Technica is a T-Bird at 1425MHz running Win2K and CLI 3.03, 150MHz FSB, KT7 RAID, and the system time to complete the benchmark was 4:39.

So much for the myth of Intel P-whatever superiority. I think even the Ars Technica guys are beginning to figure out the reality now

First unit I got was right near 10 hours. Not too bad. And alot faster than my old machines .

Btw I upgraded to a Duron 650@896MHz now.

Thats alot nicer than the K6-III 450 I was running . I still have that K6-III 450 sitting to my left (its for friends to play games on... and my other K6-III 450 is still in my Server). I don't work at the same place and can't abuse computers like I used to for Seti.

But I have access to a few Macs here at my campus.

got my athlon 650 back for $150. its running great at 787mhz, using it as my main system right now. the 1st 2 wu`s came in at 8hrs 57 min and 10hrs 14min. not very impressive with seti, but its quite fast in quake3.
