Anyone seriously objected to the team merger? They have 250 zombies on the team, about 45 are active, while we have around 35 active members and 30 zombies. I think it will greatly strengthen our visibility, which is the main reason the team has been called into life - it's pretty cool to have Top 100 teams in two of the three big distributed computing efforts. I'm all for it as long as the team page doesn't have a password lock. What are they trying to keep secret anyways? Goofy nick-names?

Yes, why not? I can't wait to see "Team 3DNow!" on the Top 100!!! On the password issue, you should know that there's people that just love to bother other people. As the team coordinator, I've received a couple dozen distributed.net emails requested by somebody in Poland who wants me to know the team's password (so, cb18.szczecin.mtl.pl, if you're reading this, STOP clicking on that damn button!) Well, while not close to a founder, i have been on Team AMD since i got my 233 K6. Over the years (wow, years) it has dwindeled drastically. I lost interest as well. Now with my k6-III 450 and my trusty old 233 i am crunching seti. If there is a new spark of interest, looks like the new team will bee good for both sides. Hmm, now to keep blocks, i have been crunching since, january 97? hmm, somewhere around there. I also have my old e-mail account in there, with quite a few blocks. on EFNET, #teamamd is an rc5 channel for some live chat on the issue. It was hopping, but no more. Whatever happens, there are plenty on Zombies as was started earlier. Whichever way it goes, things will pick up. There is no way to just literally merger the teams w/o block loss? I know you can not switch e-mails and x-fer blocks like you can on seti, but I was hoping there could be something worked out. Hmm IP: Logged |

I was under the impression that you could transfer your rc5 block around. the FAQ mentions the ability to do so under teh heading "I'm losing my old email" or something. <br>see http://www.distributed.net/FAQ/statsfaq.html#st2015 <br> <br> but as to wether this will take them from the old team or not...???
